Course Description
**A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to book this course. Once your deposit is paid, you will receive a complete invoice via email depending on your number of participants entered on the booking request form. DEVELOPING EQUITY IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION COURSE DESCRIPTION: This 12 hour series includes 4 modules conducted on different days and cannot be purchased separately. This series costs $120 per participant. Module 1: Culture & Equity in Childhood Education This 3 hour module orients participants to the foundational content for deeper study of equity and its implications in ECE environments, including issues of human diversity that are broadly defined to include race, ethnicity, culture, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability. Module 2: Implicit Bias- Key Concepts This 3 hour module explores the science of implicit bias and how implicit bias shows up in daily life, and provides opportunities to practice strategies that interrupt implicit bias. This session emphasizes the impact of micro-aggressions and stereotypes that influence teaching and learning while working with children and families. Module 3: Poverty & Privilege This 3 hour module examines how social inequity leads to educational inequality and how educational inequities reproduce social inequality in the broader society. Module 4: Building Systems of Equity This 3 hour module synthesizes the key outcomes from sessions one, two, and three and provides the foundational steps that need to be taken to build equity driven systems. HOURS BREAKDOWN: 12 COK Hours: Professionalism- 12 LEARNING OUTCOMES/OBJECTIVES: Participants will: 1. Gain awareness about why equity matters; 2. Build knowledge, understanding, and expertise regarding equity factors that impact early childhood setting including culture, implicit bias, equity vs. equality, poverty and privilege and equitable systems 3. Gain insight about their proficiency with this series’ content; 4. Create an action plan for next steps.
Cancelation Policy
All payments need to be made in full prior to the start of a course. Each learning event, whether Face-to-Face or webinar format, requires a minimum of eight participants. The decision to hold or cancel a class is made, in most cases, three business days prior to class. XYZ The End Result, LLC. reserves the right to cancel a learning event at any time due to unexpected circumstances. If a learning event is canceled by the Instructor, participants will receive a full refund or be offered credit for a future learning event. If a participant or agency/school has already purchased a scheduled learning event, they may request a refund (minus the non-refundable $50 deposit) up to 5 business days prior to their scheduled learning event. Refunds will be issued 10 to 15 business days after the cancellation request has been made. If a cancellation request is made within the 5 business days leading up to their scheduled learning event, they will only be eligible to receive a credit toward a future learning event. This credit will be redeemable up to 6 months from the scheduled learning event that they are canceling.
